Dr.
Rita Hervey LHD, President & Co-founder, Mentor was an educator for the Special School District
for approximately eighteen years, before resigning in the summer of 2006 to work for the Foundation full-time.
As an educator Dr. Hervey experienced the increasing demands and challenges associated with the decline of the
family unit and the rise of negative societal influences. Mrs. Hervey also realized the educational system and government
programs are overwhelmed with trying to meet the needs of single parents and she needed to get involved to help single parents,
one family at a time.
Michael J. Hervey, Sr.
Executive Director/Treasurer reports the Foundation’s budget analysis at the board meetings.
Mr. Hervey worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (Boeing Aircraft for 18 years as Senior Dept. Assist, as a Supervisor and
a Technical Specialist. As Tech. Specialist he was responsible for departmental budget in the sum of three million dollars,
annually. Mr. Hervey worked for Tsi Engineering, Inc. as Lab Manager, where he was responsible for several employees, testing
construction materials and writing technical reports.
Jason
Thompson, Director & Mentor was born in Detroit, Michigan and received his B.A. in
psychology from Morehoue College in Atlanta, Georgia. He recieved his M.A. in counseling from St. Louis University. Mr.
Thompson works as a guidance counselor for the Riverview Gardens School District and serves as a program director
for A+ Achievement Center, Inc., a tutoring/enrichment organization. He is also the vice-president for Change Agents,
LLC, a personal and professional development company. Additionally he works as a licensed professional counselor and has experience
counseling individuals and families in the areas of grief, violence, divorce, anger mangement, self-esteem and goal-setting.
He has served as a Mentor, tutor, motivational speaker and church youth leader for youth in Detroit, Atlanta and St. Louis.
Dr. Quintella Morris PhD, Director is a graduate of the American Behavioral Studies Institute in Santa Ana, California and California
State University in Los Angeles, California. She has spent over 30 years in education. As an educator Dr. Morris presented
workshops on diversity, self-esteem, communication and stress to the faculty in the California school districts. Dr. Morris
is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California and Texas and has worked over 10 years with relationship issues
such as domestic violence, family reunifications and abused children. Dr. Morris is also a school counselor, a teacher and
an experienced workshop facilitator. Her desire is to provide a structured program to catch these “at risk and disadvantaged
youth” that fall through the educational/societal gap, by providing them with opportunities to succeed.
Donald E. Reeves, Director is a native of Cincinnati,
OH. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Lindenwood College. He has over 25 years of experience
in sales and banking. As a Banking Center Manager-Officer, Mr. Reeves was responsible for loan growth, deposit growth and
expense management. He lead various operations/sales meetings, developed monthly marketing plans for sales and services, while
making sure that the associates and customers satisfaction remained at the highest standards. Mr. Reeves currently works as Vice-President in the Business Banking Division for Regions
Bank. As vice-president, of the business division, Mr. Reeves is responsible for providing services to ensure overall client
satisfaction, identifying and addressing cross-sell opportunities, upgrading client relationships to improve the quality of
business service for Regions Bank. - Community Service includes serving on the board of directors for the St. Louis Black Repertory Theater and Demetrius Johnson Foundation.
A recipient as an advocate of the 2007, 8th Annual Soiree award of Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center;
volunteer my services with the North City Pastors Coalition, Junior Achievement Group and the Boys Scouts of America.
In 2007 Mr. Reeves became a member of the Hervey Foundation.
